Welcome to Portland Design, I design websites to my customers tastes. Clean, grunge, cool or retro, the choice is yours. I will of course offer advice at each stage and allow you to see the work and comment on it before we sign each stage off. So if your looking for simple websites, logo design, photo editing or presentation design then I can help.
Just because a website was cheap to purchase doesn’t mean it has to look cheap.
I designed my first website in the late 90’s, I know the web was around then too! More recently I have retrained in HTML and CSS. But if you want a design based on WordPress I can accommodate that too.
Why do I design websites and logos? Well I really enjoy it, the fulfilment of starting a project and seeing it through to completion is fantastic. And being able to give customers the right on-line presence their business or product deserves make it all the more enjoyable.
What’s the next step? You can fill in the contact form or call me and we can discuss your needs. There are also links to some of the forms I use on the contact page which will give you an idea of the type of information I need.
What will you get in return for your hard earned cash? The final product and all the details and contact sheets you will need to replicate the design across other media.
Use the contact page to send me a message. Give brief details of what you are looking for and I will get back to you. I will send out the required forms for you to complete and when they are returned I will advise you on the next step. There is nothing to pay until we have completed and signed the contract form. At that point I require 50% of the quote upfront and I will then work on your project. The remainder of the fees will need to be paid before I hand over the completed files or change over contact details and passwords. I will itemise all the costs in the quote so you can be sure that I am the right designer for you and your business.
Each project will be costed individually so I need to have an idea of your budget from the start, although I can usually come up with something within the price of my clients. Design elements tend to be the more costly items due to the amount of time taken over them. I can design you a logo for £50, but that will limit the number of redesigns I can offer. In the past I have redesigned a logo many times for a client to ensure it was the best for them. Equally providing a CMS (content management system) will allow you to update the site yourself when you need to. However some clients find that when the time comes for a new page or redesign, remembering the training can be time consuming.
Before deciding on a website style it is important to consider what you want the site to achieve, we can then take this forward when we look at what you require and it can educate the design of the site.
If you are local I can come to you and take the images for your website, this will incur an additional cost depending on how far I have to travel and the number of images taken. Alternatively you can provide the images, provided you can guarantee the copyright of those images.
Each website will have standard SEO (search engine optimisation). Further SEO can be provided or instruction given on how to manage this yourself.
